Why should you visit Trsteno?
Apart from 2 tall plane trees, the famous summer villa Gučetić, the fountain of the god Neptune, monument to the war veterans of the Homeland war and victims from the World War II, in Trsteno there is an arboretum that combines the cultural and natural heritage since 1948. On the area of 25 acres of historic gardens you will find also many Mediterranean and exotic plants from all over the world.
The Pelješac Peninsula – hidden treasures of wineries and clear sea
The Pelješac Peninsula is famous for its pristine nature and clear sea. At the very entrance to the peninsula lies the town of Ston, famous for the oldest and still active saltwork that once was one of the great treasures of the Ragusan Republic. Above Ston there are old town walls, second in the world in terms of size. The Bay of Mali Ston is famous for oyster and mussel production. The production of top quality wines is one of the main activities rooted deeply in the culture of local population. On the slopes and near the sea, bathing is sunshine, grows the Pelješac grapevine whose fruits will, with a bit of winemaker's magic, become a premium wine.
