The Pelješac Peninsula is famous for its untouched nature and clear sea. At the very entrance to the peninsula lies the town of Ston, famous for the oldest and still active saltwork that once was one of the great treasures of the Ragusan Republic. Above Ston there are old town walls, second in the world in terms of size. The Bay of Mali Ston is famous for oyster and mussel production. The production of top quality wines is one of the main activities rooted deeply in the culture of local population. On the slopes and near the sea, bathing is sunshine, grows the Pelješac grapevine whose fruits will, with a bit of winemaker's magic, become a premium wine.
