Boat excursion to Montenegro
The eternal conflict of green hills, sharp cliffs and blue sea
The area from the Dubrovnik-Konavle coast up to the coast of Montenegro, along with Prevlaka and the Bay of Kotor really do have a certain maritime charm that can be best experienced if you take sightseeing by boat from the sea side. Looking from this perspective, you will see the contrast between the green hills of Konavle and the blue sea, the conflict of sharp cliffs and cultivated vegetation. In the Bay of Kotor many battles for territorial supremacy were led in the old times, and sailing down the bay you can almost hear the echoes of the soldiers in a battle for homeland defense ... The town of Kotor is situated in the bay, surrounded by 4 km long walls with 3 entrances into the town. Within the walls there is the Cathedral of St. Tryphon, who is also the patron of the town. Apart from the Cathedral, in Kotor there are also the Rector's Palace, the building of Napoleon’s theater, the Arsenal, the Church of St. Clara with Franciscan monastery, the Česma Karampana (Karampana well), the town tower... The Montenegrins knew how to use the sea for life, they were maritime people, as evidenced by the Maritime Museum in Kotor, situated in a Baroque palace of the noble family Grgurina from the 18th century. At each step of the way you can feel the ancient tradition of the town that always warmly welcomed its visitors, hosted them and charmed them with the magic of its entangled narrow streets and squares, old buildings, churches, town walls... Blend of past and present of the old town of Kotor gives it a special charm that makes the visitors keep coming back.
